BPS Controller - CTG.300

Pump station pressure regulation equipment of MEI GROUP is a specialized controller that helps maintain stable pressure on the water supply network by adjusting the inverter frequency accordingly critical pressure point. The device collects pressure data from 4–20mA sensors at the station or from remote pressure nodes via LoRa, combines Modbus/RS485 data to calculate and control the inverter in real time.

Support equipment many operating hours, each time frame has its own pressure setpoint and frequency range, suitable for the needs of day - night and each DMA/DMZ area. Optimal PI algorithm helps stabilize pressure, avoid fluctuations and reduce the risk of pipe rupture. When the critical point signal is lost, the device automatically switches to backup mode based on pressure behind the valve or fixed pressure.

Data is synchronized with MEI ECO ecosystem, allowing remote monitoring of inverter status, pressure, flow and operating history. The system automatically warns when the pressure exceeds the threshold, the inverter fails or the connection is lost. The device is suitable for booster pump stations, urban areas, industrial parks and water supply systems that need accurate pressure control 24/7.

MEI GROUP Smart Booster Pump Control Solution

MEI GROUP's booster pump control system is designed to maintain stable pressure for the DMA/DMZ water supply network, especially prioritizing pressure at critical point. The device supports real-time collection of pressure, flow and operating status data, thereby automatically controlling the inverter to optimize pipeline pressure, reduce water loss and limit the risk of pipe burst.

1. Collect pressure data at the critical point

LoRa Node located at a disadvantage sends pressure data to the controller with a cycle of 1–5 seconds. The transmission distance is 1–5 km in urban areas and 5–10 km in suburban areas. Data is checked by CRC, with a retry mechanism to help increase reliability and limit packet loss.

In addition to LoRa, the system also supports reading data via Modbus RS485, suitable for smart sensors, flow meters, and multi-parameter pressure sensors. The device always prioritizes pressure at critical point to maintain stable pressure for the entire DMA/DMZ area.

2. Real-time inverter control

The inverter can be controlled via analog AI 0–10V, 4–20mA, Modbus RS485 or Digital Output Start/Stop signals. Based on pressure and flow data, the device automatically adjusts pump frequency, pump flow and pipeline pressure according to a stable algorithm, avoiding pressure fluctuations and limiting water shock.

3. Control over multiple time frames

The system supports 8–16 operating hours. Each time frame can be configured with its own pressure setpoint, min/max frequency limit, PI coefficient and priority mode such as critical point, after-valve pressure or fixed pressure.

Practical applications include: increasing pressure during peak hours, reducing pressure at night to limit pipe bursts, and operating according to schedules for industrial parks, irrigation or specific water supply areas. When changing the time frame, the device activates the ramp time mechanism to prevent pressure shock.

4. Intelligent control algorithm

The device uses an optimal PI algorithm, supports pressure compensation according to flow variations, prevents pressure vibration, protects against sudden low/high pressure and automatically switches to pressure behind the valve when the critical point signal is lost. If LoRa data is lost for more than 30 seconds, the system switches to backup mode to ensure continuous operation.

5. Integrate the MEI ECO ecosystem

Data is transmitted to MEI ECO Cloud or MEI ECO On-Premise, supporting real-time monitoring of pressure, flow, pump frequency, inverter status, voltage, pump current and error warnings. Users can configure setpoints, control schedules, PI coefficients, view 30–180 days of data history, and export DMA/DMZ operation reports.

Warning system when low/high pressure, loss of signal at critical point, faulty inverter, low tank water level or abnormal detection on the pipeline. Alerts are sent via SMS, Zalo, Telegram, Email, Web and App.

6. Practical application

Suitable solution for upstream booster pump stations, residential areas, urban areas, rural water supply systems, industrial parks and DMA/DMZs that need to regulate pressure according to critical points. The system helps operate stably, save energy, reduce water loss and improve the efficiency of water supply network management.
