PART II - TERMS OF USE

MEI IoT - IoT device monitoring and management platform

MEI IoT is an Internet of Things (IoT) device monitoring and management platform, developed to help businesses, operators and technicians connect, monitor and manage IoT devices remotely on a centralized system.

The MEI IoT application connects to the MEI Cloud platform, allowing authorized users to access device data, monitor operating status, view sensor data, receive alerts and manage devices in their system.

MEI IoT is designed for IoT applications in industry, water supply and drainage, environmental monitoring, energy, agriculture and infrastructure management.

1. Centralized device monitoring

MEI IoT helps users manage multiple devices and monitoring points on the same application.

Depending on the device and system deployed, users can monitor parameters such as:

  • Device operating status.

  • Online/Offline connection status.

  • Instantaneous flow rate and totalized volume.

  • Pressure and water level.

  • Temperature and humidity.

  • Water quality and environmental parameters.

  • Voltage, current, power and electricity.

  • Input/output status and Relay status.

  • Voltage, power status and communication signal strength.

The displayed parameters depend on the device type, sensor and configuration of each project.

2. Near real-time data

Data from IoT devices is transmitted to the MEI Cloud platform through connection methods appropriate to each system.

The application allows users to monitor device data in near real time, helping to quickly grasp the operating status of the system.

Information is presented visually to help operators monitor important parameters without having to be directly at the equipment installation location.

3. Intuitive dashboard

MEI IoT provides a Dashboard that helps synthesize important system information on a unified interface.

Dashboard can display:

  • Current sensor value.

  • Device status and connection status.

  • Operating parameters.

  • Alert is active.

  • Information aggregated by each device or region.

The interface is designed to help users quickly perceive the overall status of the system.

4. Charts and historical data

In addition to current data, MEI IoT allows authorized users to access historical device data.

Data can be presented as a graph over time, supporting:

  • Track trends and compare data.

  • Check parameter fluctuations.

  • Analyze device performance.

  • Helps determine when a problem occurs.

The period of storage and data allowed to be accessed depends on the service configuration and permissions of each account.

5. Warnings and notices

MEI IoT supports detection of abnormal states based on conditions and thresholds configured for each system.

Warnings may include:

  • Device lost connection.

  • Sensor value exceeds threshold.

  • Abnormal pressure.

  • Water level is too high or too low.

  • Abnormal flow rate.

  • The battery or device power is low.

  • Sensor error or communication error.

  • Events are configured individually for each project.

When supported and authorized by the user, the application can send notifications to help operators promptly identify events that require attention.

6. Manage multiple devices

MEI IoT is designed to support systems from small-scale to projects with multiple devices deployed in multiple locations.

Organization > Project > Area > Equipment

This structure helps users easily search, track and manage devices according to the scope of permissions.

7. Manage device location

For projects with location information configured, MEI IoT can display devices on a map to support management of distributed installation sites. Users can select a device point to view corresponding information and status.

This feature is suitable for systems with equipment deployed in many areas such as water supply networks, environmental monitoring and technical infrastructure.

8. Remote control and configuration

For authorized devices and accounts, MEI IoT can provide remote command or configuration functionality.

Depending on the device type, functionality may include:

  • Output control or Relay.

  • Change configuration parameters or data update cycle.

  • Configure alarm thresholds.

  • Synchronize operating parameters.

  • Send commands tailored to the device.

Control functions are only available to accounts with appropriate permissions.

9. Account management and authorization

MEI IoT uses an account system to define the range of data and functions that users are allowed to access.

Depending on the role granted, users may be allowed to:

  • View data, devices, and alerts.

  • View historical data.

  • Configure or control the device.

  • Manage other functions of the system.

Decentralization helps limit unauthorized access to devices and data belonging to other organizations or projects.

10. Connect to the MEI IoT ecosystem

The MEI IoT app is a component of MEI's IoT ecosystem.

Sensors & Meters > MEI Data Logger / IoT Gateway > 4G / Ethernet / Wi-Fi / LoRa > MEI Cloud > MEI IoT App / Web Dashboard / API

Data is transmitted from the device to MEI Cloud and made available to users through appropriate interfaces. For devices that support two-way control, commands from the user can be sent via MEI Cloud to the device after being authenticated and access checked.

11. Security and privacy

MEI focuses on protecting user accounts, device information and data processed through the platform.

Depending on the architecture and deployment configuration, the system may use protection mechanisms such as:

  • Account authentication and device authentication.

  • Decentralize and control data access.

  • Encrypted connection, including HTTPS/TLS or MQTTS when configured.

  • Tokens and device authentication information.

Apps only request mobile device permissions when necessary to provide the respective functionality.

The collection, use, storage and protection of information is carried out in accordance with Part I - Privacy Policy of this document and applicable law.

12. Target users

MEI IoT is primarily designed for:

  • Enterprises and system operators.

  • Water supply and drainage unit.

  • Factories and industrial parks.

  • Environmental monitoring unit.

  • Energy or infrastructure management unit.

  • Engineers, technicians and customers are using MEI's IoT devices and solutions.

Some app functions require a valid MEI IoT account and a device registered on the system.
