SMART AGRICULTURAL WEATHER MONITORING UNIT
The smart agricultural weather monitor is an industrial IoT device designed to collect, process and transmit environmental data for microclimate monitoring, irrigation management and agricultural production optimization. The system operates continuously 24/7, meeting outdoor operating requirements in harsh environmental conditions.
The device integrates a high-performance processor and industrial communication interfaces such as RS485/Modbus RTU, LoRa, WiFi, Ethernet and 4G LTE. Data from sensors is collected through installation cycles, processed and stored locally before being transmitted to the Cloud platform via MQTT or HTTPS protocol.
The system supports simultaneous connection of many environmental sensors including air temperature, air humidity, instantaneous rainfall, accumulated rainfall, wind speed, wind direction, solar radiation, atmospheric pressure, soil humidity, soil temperature, EC conductivity, salinity and NPK soil nutrient sensor. The sensors use industrial signal standards RS485 Modbus RTU or Analog 4–20mA, ensuring scalability and compatibility with many different manufacturers.
The device is equipped with large capacity industrial Flash memory or SD Card memory card that supports FIFO caching mechanism. In case of loss of Internet connection, all data is still stored locally and automatically synchronized to the server when the connection is restored, ensuring no loss of monitoring data.
The monitoring unit supports remote configuration via Web and Mobile App. Operators can change sampling intervals, data transfer intervals, sensor calibration coefficients, alarm thresholds, and operating parameters without direct device access.
The system integrates a real-time device status monitoring mechanism including power voltage, 4G signal strength, sensor status, memory capacity, device temperature and communication connection quality. Errors such as loss of sensor signal, broken measuring wire, value exceeding the threshold or loss of power will be detected and warned immediately.
The device supports multiple security mechanisms such as SSL/TLS, device authentication with private security key, end-to-end data encryption, and remote OTA firmware updates. This helps improve system safety and reduce maintenance costs during operation.
The monitoring software provides real-time charts, daily/monthly/yearly statistical reports, device location maps, alarm history, and the ability to export data in multiple formats for in-depth analysis. The system also supports open API to integrate with SCADA, ERP, GIS or existing agricultural management platforms.
The device is designed according to industrial standards with IP65 to IP67 protection, dustproof, waterproof, UV resistant and anti-corrosion. The anti-lightning and EMC anti-interference system helps the device operate stably in outdoor environments, areas with frequent thunderstorms or electromagnetic interference.
The monitoring unit can operate on DC 12V/24V power or combine solar panels and energy storage, suitable for remote areas without grid power. This is the foundation solution for digital agriculture systems, precision agriculture and smart farm management on small to large scales.
